Sampler Tape of "Unusual Rolls"
By Bill Mintz

A couple of days ago, Robbie asked about my "Unusual rolls" and the
Piano Roll Sampler Tape I'm currently preparing. This tape is intended
to "Test the waters" for a possible series of commercial tapes. The
Sampler will have rolls from four categories; Marches (eg: ET Paull),
Arranged Medleys (eg HA Wade), One-steps, and Pete Wendling rolls (the
only category here purporting to be hand-played; I'm not sure.) The
other categories I've thought of are Waltzes, WW I Songs, Pop Songs
of 1910 to the 1920's, and Rare Ragtime (among others, I have a couple
of interesting Blind Boone rolls.)

I'm trying to get some copies of the Sampler done for the next meeting
of the Rose Leaf/Maple Leaf Club on Sept 27. My schedule is tight,
and today there are problems with recording equipment; so may not make
the deadline.

I'm enjoying the MMD; regards to all.
