In the 1960 movie version of "Elmer Gantry" starring Burt Lancaster,
Jean Simmons, and Shirley Jones, a player piano appeared in several
scenes at Jones' "residence." I recall one shot where a partially
unfurled piano roll was lying haphazardly on a piece of furniture.

Damon, when you have finished reading the book, rent the movie or try
catching it on Turner Classic Movies sometime. It's a fine film with
Academy Award-winning performances by Burt Lancaster and Shirley Jones.
