Yesterday I received the 40-page printed catalog with photos and
description of the big auction in Chartres.  It's a beautiful brochure,
and I suspect that it reflects the artistic talents of our MMDer
Philippe Rouille, who also serves as consultant to the auctioneers.

With Philippe's approval I have copied the photographs of the droll
automaton by Phalibois, "L'homme au tonneau", the drinking man with a
