Rumble Heard On Telarc CD "A Window In Time"
By Harvey Chao

Sorry to possibly re-ignite this thread, but I just got my copy of this
CD. The music is remarkable - a remarkable performance in all musical
aspects - in particular dynamics and phrasing - astounding to my MMD
novice ear !

Now the fly in the ointment: has anyone besides me become aware of the
"rumble" on the recording? It is distinctly present on each cut and
disappears between cuts. Pretty low frequency, reminds me of turntable
rumble, or perhaps rumble from heavy machinery etc. It's presence is
truly unfortunate; it really spoils an otherwise fine recording.

The only way I can eliminate it is to throw in a high pass filter by
turning off my sub-woofer and only use the mid/high range satellite
speakers above 80 Hz. That pretty much addresses the rumble, but then
wipes out the lower string tones from the piano!

Anyone else??
