Wire Recordings
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, In 1995, my parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
A year earlier, as the day approached, I was frantic to find something
that was truly memorable to give them. Then it struck me that I had
four spools of wire that were recorded on my folks Sears wire recorder
in the 50's.

After locating an individual who claimed he could transpose the record-
ings onto cassettes, I sent the precious canisters of wire to him. A
month or so later, the cassettes and canisters were returned and with
great anticipation I played the cassettes.

Well, I'm not ashamed to say I cried like a baby when I heard my father
singing as my mother played the piano. And I laughed like a clown when
I heard my older brother singing Christmas carols. But I howled when
I heard myself singing nursery rhymes.

I was quite impressed with the audio quality of the wire recordings
which were, in my opinion, clear as a bell.

Musically,

John A. Tuttle
