Jesse French Pianola in Australia
By Colin MacKinnon

-- forwarded message, please reply to sender and MMD --

I enjoy reading the MMD Archives although I am real beginner in
mechanical music. A while ago I related a sad story about a Jesse
French pianola that my uncle gave away (see 981121 MMD in the
Archives).

Now I find there is one available in my old home town. It is not the
one my uncle had but it seems to be the same 1926 vintage. It was
"completely restored in 1974" and is allegedly in top condition and
is for sale at Australian $1200 (about US$ 800).

The owner went to pains to tell me it is a "single-valve Standard
action". That means nothing to me, so can any expert please tell me
if that is good or bad?

All comments greatly appreciated.
