Regina Chime Clock
By Berley Firmin

Hi all: I restored a Regina Chime Clock last year and I am not
impressed with the machine; the discs play chimes and tunes on the
quarter hours, and are not very musical. Actually, they are boring
after 24 hours of listening to it!

The Seth Thomas movement on the one I restored was missing it's
seconds-beat pendulum and leader and the spring barrel was cracked
and held in place by a wire. Dr. Don Elbers kindly repaired the barrel
for me (and also some damaged gear teeth).

The owner bought the clock for around $3000, if I remember right, from
a well-known dealer. They definitely are not worth the $16,000+ price
in my opinion. For the price get a Regina Music Box!
