The Owner Believes It's Very Valuable ...
By Dan Armstrong

Horror stories: I just picked up a Hardman & Peck "Duo Art" console
player piano (1960's style, for consignment sale) that was bought ten
years ago from an undisclosed (from my end) dealer.

The owner played it for ten years -- albeit with very weak notes,
untuned, and in very poor shape -- and thought he really had a jewel!
He kept it in a damp basement, and when I got it the veneer (which was
well-waxed to keep it shiny) was falling off in my hands! So I'm
wondering, what would you pay for this "jewel"? (Rhetorical question,
of course).

I did tell the owner that all repairs to make it salable would be
deducted from his earnings after my consignment cut, which he agreed
to... : (

Have a good Halloweenie!
