Tuning Organ Reeds
By Fritz Gellerman

There is an entire chapter in my book, "The American Reed Organ and
the Harmonium," devoted to tuning reeds.

If they have a gentle curve, that is from voicing, which gives the
reeds a better tone. If one reed is severely bent, more than the
others, it is damaged. You can try to bend it back. Do not heat it
-- that will damage the reed.

There are plenty of replacement reeds available. Contact the Reed
Organ Society Mailing List, similar to the MMD, for more details.
For information on the ROS List contact Jim Tyler <tylerj@crl.com>.
