"Voelkerbund Marsch" & "Vredesbondsmars"
By Dave Vincent

I once had an LP of a Dutch street organ (as I recall, "The Arab")
performing a march which I recall was "Vredesbondsmars." I have also
heard the march performed by the organ "The Golden Angel" in Holland,
Michigan. I recall that the German title (from examining the book in
Holland, Michigan) is "Volkerbund-Marsch," or something like that.

Are any of the MMD readers familiar with this piece? Do I have the
correct title? Do you know the composer? Does anybody know when it
was written? I want to arrange it for band organ, but I'd like the
book to be labeled correctly.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

[ The Keller & Kern Archive catalog (MMD 991015) lists "Voelkerbund
[ - Marsch", composed by Carl Frei and arranged for 90- to 125-key
[ Carl Frei scale. "Die Voelkerbund" is the German name for the
[ League of Nations, so the song was probably composed shortly after
 [ WW1. -- Robbie
