Hi All,  Craig Brougher has written another fine article titled,
"Soundboards, and Old Wives' Tales" in which he presents the facts
about soundboard movement and the effect that finishes, and other
components, have on the sound of a piano.

In the article he explains the important characteristics of a good
soundboard and how they interact with each other, the trade-offs that
engineers have to deal with, and the relationship between the finish
and the movement of the soundboard.
