Phonograph Turntable Speeds

Yes, there were some 16.x RPM records made, I don't know the exact
speed, for some reason I want to say 16-7/8, but I don't know if that
is right or not.

I remember having some children's records when I was a kid that run at
16.x; my wife still has hers, they are 8" I think.  Also, I think that
the old talking books records ran at 16.x RPM.

I remember when I was a teenager we used to say that someone was
"running at 16 speed" if we thought they took too long to do something.
