Conn Organ Controls Soundfont Organ Synthesizer

I sent a file to you via private post, as I didn't want to burden
this list with such a catalog of Devtronix 'kits' available. However,
since I too am in the early stages of "MIDIfying" a Conn Artist Organ,
I thought I'd share these thoughts with you on what I'm planning.

I have (in collaboration with others) created a truly magnificent
soundfont using actual digital samples from four of Europe's finest
cathedral organs. I plan to install a Pentium class computer in the
organ, using an AWE LiveDrive to provide the sound engine, and using
the existing amplifier and speaker of the console for one channel of
the stereo output, and the amplifier and Leslie speaker of the remote
cabinet for the other channel.

I will wire both manuals and the pedal manual to separate MIDI encoders
and feed the combined output to the soundcard's MIDI input. I will
have to write a custom program to control the system, and will likely
use the existing tabulature keys to control 'presets' as well. I will
use a small color LCD screen installed in the console and a touch pad
for mouse control. With a large hard drive, as well as a floppy disk,
installed between the manuals, I should be able to accomplish all that
anyone could ever want to do with this instrument.

By using replaceable/upgradable soundfont technology, one can have
a truly limitless variety of instrumentation and voicing!
