Seek Ampico "B" Valves
By Dean Moore

I recently purchased a 1931 Marshall and Wendell "B" grand that has
been playing beautifully and of course I could not leave well enough
alone.

Today I decided to clean out the tracker bar and dislodged a lot of
dirt and lint that had been accumulating for a long time. In the
process of cleaning, one of the valves quit working and would not
shut off (therefore the key stayed down) and played whenever it
wanted to.

I at first hoped that it would correct itself so played several rolls,
but "Murphy's law" prevailed and I finally had to remove the cover so
that I could locate and remove the offending valve. Good luck finally
kicked in and a chunk of "dirt" ended up in my mouth as I repeatedly
tried to get it to clear. (Isn't this hobby fun?)

Finally the reason for this missive: Does anyone of you happen to have
a spare "B" valve or two that I could purchase and have on hand in case
my luck runs out next time when I decide that I cannot leave well
enough alone.

Sincerely,
Dean Moore
