Recording Recollections of Pioneers
By C. Jim Cook

{ Ref. letter from Marc Sachnoff in 001107 MMD ]

You should not limit yourself to just recording the pioneers. Too many
of them are already silent. However, there are a number of collectors
who have also collected knowledge that has not been recorded along with
their instruments.

Another suggestion is to not limit yourself to automated instruments.
I know of one fellow, Charlie the Tuner (Chuck Jackson) in Hopkinton,
Massachusetts, who has started a piano museum. He's just getting
started, but with his experience in the business, he does have a
qualified appreciation.

Please don't limit yourself to only audio recordings. As a television
producer, you are in a unique situation of being able to record the
requisite pictures to go along with the stories.

Regards and good luck!
