Wurlitzer Mammoth Organ at Joyland Park, Wichita
By Matthew Caulfield

I just read Damian Mayes' posting to the 03-12-00 MMD about Joyland
Louie, of which he is the proud caretaker.

The last issue of the Carousel Organ Association of America's
publication, "Carousel Organ," contained an article I wrote about
Joyland Louie, based on information received from Nancy Strattan, Les
Lovesee, Harold Ottaway (whose family built the park and acquired the
organ), and Stanley Nelson (present owner of the park).

I regret that I wasn't able to interview Damian for the article, but
it is -- as far as I know -- the most complete report on Joyland Louie.
It is illustrated with pictures from Ron Bopp's book, "The American
Carousel Organ" and includes a picture of Louie, himself, the ageless
namesake of the organ.
