Jazz Flute Rank for John Smith Fair Organ
By John Smith

I have been reading with interest the discussion on Jazz Flutes. I was
particularly pleased to read Hans Van Oost's comment about not being
able to solve all organ problems with science.

As an amateur builder nearly everything I do is based on trial and
error, and the more I do the more I realise that organ building is an
art. I am currently building myself a fair organ; I would like to
incorporate some Jazz Flutes and I am sure that Hans' method of tuning
will be the best.

Building this fair organ has turned out to be a totally different
can of worms to the small hand-turned organs I have made in the past,
I have been asked to do some plans for it but I believe that would be
as useful as issuing a "paint by numbers" replica of the Mona Lisa.
