Variations Music Boxes
By Kevin Kline

I am in the process of writing an article on variations-type cylinder
music boxes, to be published in the MBSI Journal. To date I have
located 18 examples. All of the examples are by Nicole Freres, range
from the 38,000 series to 45,000 series. With two exceptions, they
have cylinder lengths of either 13" or 19" inches and are in superbly
crafted cases with brass, silver, pewter and enamel inlay.

If any readers have a variations music box that they would like
included in the coverage of the article, please e-mail or mail me the
details. The information requested should include maker, cylinder
length and diameter, serial number, gamme number, tune program and
photographs of the mechanism and case.

My e-mail address is <musicbxsoc@aol.com> and my address is
2665 South Bayshore Drive, Suite 903, Miami, Florida 33133 USA.

Thank you for your help.

Kevin Kline
