Cleaning Ebony Key Tops
By James Senior

I've been told by a piano restorer that the best thing to clean real
ebony keys (i.e., those which aren't painted black) is a 50:50 mixture
of methelated spirits and water. These liquids don't mix, but if you
put them in a bottle together and shake hard, you get an emulsified
liquid which really removes grime and gives a nice shine.
