I came across six Ehrlich Ariston organette discs in a junk shop
in Madagascar.  I don't intend buying an organette but I thought
a collector might be interested in the discs.

The diameter of the discs is 42.5 centimetres (16-3/4 inch).  I did
a little research and gather this might be for a 36-note organette.
The titles are

1. Lancers Quadrille Number 3 / J. Mikel # 2818
2. The Blue Danube Waltz / Strauss # 2540
3. The Little Duke - Polka / Arban # 2782
4. Fanny Rosa - Polka Mazurka / C. I Richter # 2523
5. Pollacca nei Puratani / Bellini # 2865
6. Air from Lucia di Lammermoor / Donizetti # 2585

All the discs are in good condition except "Fanny Rosa", which has
some wear on the five holes that mount it onto the machine.  Three of
the perforations on the outer edge of that disc has a couple of broken
dividers in a long perforation. (I guess this must have been the
owner's most popular disc.)

All the others look perfect, with no wear or damage on the perforations
or the mounting holes.  Apart from a little marking with age and dust
that has settled into the wax coating, they look okay. There are no
tears or holes in any of them.  I can send JPEG pictures for any
details of the discs.

I collect odd bits and pieces but music boxes are not a passion,
although I'm fascinated by them.  When I saw them in the junk shop
I knew exactly what they were, but I haven't seen cardboard discs
before.

Anyway, Madagascar is a fascinating place.  It's been isolated for
so long there seems to be quite a few antiquities around at very
reasonable prices.  I asked the junk shop owner if he knew where the
organette was and he said, 'No, I just got the discs'.  My French is
not too good anyway!

The discs are located in Antananrivo, Madagascar, and can be shipped
