Hello all:  I can't resist responding to Don Winter's comment about not
being able to sell his reproducing piano.  I recall a few days ago that
he stated it played well, but did not reproduce well.  I also recall
that it is an Knabe Ampico.  If it has been properly restored, it should
reproduce extremely well.  These are not difficult instruments to make
play properly, and when they do, they are most impressive.

An unrestored or not properly working instrument is of interest only
to someone who can restore it themselves or knows someone who can and
also appreciates what it is and can do.  Its value is impacted by the
cost of making it right.

I encourage making the piano reproduce properly.  The effect on
salability may be surprising!  I would be glad to coach him through
the corrective measures to make it right if he is interested.
