Charles Anciaume of Grammont & Paris
By Hans van Oost

According to Leon Honorez, a Belgian organ restorer, Charles Anciaume
joined the Limonaire firm in Paris. He is said to be responsible for
the beginning of the organ building by this Paris firm. According to
the story he would have been referred to as "le pere Anciaume", so
maybe one or more of his sons has worked for Limonaire freres as well.

Charles Anciaume seems to have worked before in Geraardsbergen
(Grammont) in Belgium, making street organs.

Best regards from the Netherlands,
