Music Boxes by Thomas Edison
By Mark Kinsler

Edison made music boxes, huh? For this he invented the phonograph?
I'm surprised, and of course, interested. The first thing that occurred
to me is that Edison might have taken over a music box company (or part
of its production) to produce phonographs.

Is there any sort of a date associated with the music box? Phonograph
production probably started in 1877 or 1878, but I don't know for sure.
I haven't read anything on Edison that mentions music boxes.
