Cleaning Music Box Disks
By Steve Greatrex

Hi MMD's, I have recently acquired a number of Polyphon discs that
have been stored quite badly, with a sheet of newspaper between each
one. The paper has absorbed moisture and consequently the discs are
rusty but otherwise in good condition, having no missing or bent
projections. Can anyone tell me the best way to clean rusty
Polyphon discs?

In the MMD Archives it has been suggested that electrolysis is a
popular restoration technique but the article also says that the
surface is left black.

Any help would be appreciated.
