Hi,  My name is Craig Stein and I am writing to you from Montreal.
I am doing research for a television documentary which explores the
history of technology through the fields of film, music and television
(i.e., player piano, microphone, radio, juke box, television, the
amplifier, the VCR, ghetto blaster, music videos, CDs, MP3 players,
etc., etc.).

I am wondering why this technology (player piano) was developed, what
the impact of the player piano was on the music industry, households,
and the inventor, and how it helped to transform society.  Any help or
