Johnson Style 163 Band Organ in Salem, Oregon
By Glenn Morris

I have been told that most smaller organs could be louder than the
Johnson band organ, following the lowering of the wind pressure.

The pavilion is much more of a challenge at this point. It consists
of mostly metal and glass, except for the roof area.

As mentioned in my recent article, they may try using heavy plate
glass louvers (shutters) that could adjust the volume further. This
would address the volume better than Plexiglas.
