Leather Supply House & Marilyn McLeland
By Gary Stevenson

Like many others restorers and apparently MMDers, I too dealt with the
Leather Supply House, and yes, "something surely did happen at the
Leather Supply House." As a long time client, I made contact with the
family and was sent the following email:

Hello my name is Therese Poplar, I am Marilyn McLeland's
(Walsh's) Daughter. I am Sorry we haven't notified you earlier,
but unfortunately Marilyn passed away Feb. 20, 2003 of congestive
heart failure. As per her Instructions [Her Will] the business is
to be sold to the highest bidder, We are down to two bidders at
this time and within in a few weeks you will receive notice of the
new owners. So at this time we are not excepting orders.

   Sincerely,
   Therese Poplar

Marilyn was a good and fair lady and she will be missed by me and
I dare say all of the restorers of mechanical music machines. On a
personal note, many times I could have sent in orders for leather by
mail to them but I called them instead because she was wonderful to
talk to. I thank God for having known her!
