FS: 1911 Steinway Upright Player Piano
By Paul Murphy

Fellow player piano lovers: My piano has been a major source of
pleasure, first to my father and then to me, for the past 38 years.
Before that, it belonged to a single owner. For a number of reasons
that I'd share in email, I'm considering selling it (and the cabinets
and rolls) and would welcome advice and offers.

About advice: Could anyone recommend a reputable/competent appraiser in
the Washington, DC area? About offers: My email is <rpmur@Comcast.net>
I'd be happy to correspond with anyone interested in the instrument to
answer individual questions.

Some details: 1911 Steinway upright. Excellent tone and power.
Shipped from Steinway factory to Aeolian (in 1913, according to letter
from John Steinway) to have 65/88-note Themodist installed. Still a
foot pumper. Pneumatics redone in late 1980s. Bellows recovered in
mid 90s. Player mechanism in excellent working condition.

All notes play well. As far as I know, all but one bass string are
original. New hammers in early 90s. All key surfaces in great shape.
Case has dings but is the original cherry finish. Matching
(contemporary) roll cabinet and tilt bench.

This is a wonderful instrument.
