Power converter?  This is not necessary!  In Canada, all homes and
buildings are supplied with a minimum service of 230 VAC, from 65 amperes
and up.  The common use is the electric kitchen stove (230 volts at
about 40 amperes) and electric clothes dryer (230 volts at 20 amps).

Any proper electrician can run in a 230-volt circuit from your main
power panel to wherever you need it in your house.  It will be supplied
with a receptacle, different from the standard wall plug.  The
configuration will depend on the ampere rating you require, which
is controlled by the size of the fuse/breaker in your main panel.

Have this work done by a professional to avoid problems with your
insurance company should anything go wrong.
