Unknown Multi-tune Music Roll
By Bill Klinger

I have uncovered a multi-tune music roll in my shop but, after
showing it to a few people, no one seem to know what it goes into.
I am wondering if anyone out there might know what it is for, from
the following description:

It is 11-1/4" wide, the holes start 1/4" from each edge and there
are 98 holes across the 10-3/4" space.

This is a multi tune roll with a 1-3/16" I.D. cardboard core. The core
has a 5/16" wide steel clip at one end inside to engage the drive hub.
There is evidence of a blue number or something on what is left of the
leader. I rolled into the first break and there is nothing on the roll
there, just about 5" of blank paper.

The roll holder has 4-1/4" aluminum hubs. The drive end has a short
hub and a 3/8" diameter recess for a 1/8" flat blade drive. The other
end of the shaft is threaded with a collar and spring inside the core,
and a 3/16" rounded-end pin projecting about 3/8". This hub presses
down on the spring and a knurled brass nut holds it in place against
the end of the roll. The whole assembly is about 12-1/2" wide, pin end
to recess hub.

Any information will be appreciated. Photos can be made if that would
help.
