Robbie,  You are right about the liability requirements from
municipalities and organizations.  They do indeed require a release
from liability when you participate in a parade.  My auto insurance
does cover that, but not any damage to my trailer and/or instrument.

I asked about a [damage] "rider" as you have suggested, and when
talking to three different major insurance companies I was told by
all that they do not insure under those situations.

I just learned last night about an "inland marine" policy that might
work but will need to wait until after the new year to check.

I am sure that some of the other MMDers have experienced this problem
and am looking to them for guidance and advice.
