Types of Self-Playing Organs
By Christofer Noering

Hello Ingmar and all: Of course the buikorgel and pootorgel (?) are
street-organs, too! What I tried to do was to distinguish the German
fair organ, the American band organ, and the Dutch pierement (remember
the book title "Van speeldoos tot pierement" = From music boxes to
street organs).

Best regards
Christofer Noering

 [ At http://www.draaiorgel.org/english/street%20organs.htm :
[ "In the early days ... street organs were, like in most other
[ countries of Europe, small hand-driven instruments that were worn
[ around the neck and leaned on the belly (buikorgel) [belly organ],
[ or were supported by an unfoldable leg (pootorgel) [foot or
[ leg organ]. Sometimes they were mounted on a small cart."
