58-Note Player Organ Scale
By Bob Loesch

Hello Terry, You are quite correct that the Wilcox & White player
rolls "upside down and inside out", but the Orchestrelle is identical
to the normal foot-pumped player piano, top to bottom.

As far as the scale, the Orchestrelle uses 6 holes to the inch,
compared to the 9-to-the-inch player piano rolls. The 65-note
piano rolls use the 6-to-the-inch scale as well, and in fact some
Orchestrelles (including mine, Style W from 1899) are equipped to
play both 58- and 65-note rolls. Hope this helps.

Regards,
Bob Loesch
