The "Cement" Lauter Piano
By Philip Jamison

I actually owned a cement (concrete?)-cased piano. This was a 5-foot
grand from the 1930s. The case was grained and looked just like
veneer. I may not have known it was cement except for a few dings
in the finish which revealed the white mortar. It was heavy, but not
"nine-man" heavy. I think I used three guys to move it. A cheap
piano, but interesting. I don't remember if it was a Lauter.
