Welte Autopiano 4-Pneumatic Tracking System
By Tim Gautreaux

Greetings. I'm reassembling a Welte Upright (Milton) and have a
question about the tracking (shifter) pneumatics. Welte used the
Autopiano stack. Usually a two-pneumatic shifter was used on an
Autopiano action, but in Weltes they were four-pneumatic units.

My question is: What was the purpose of the little pneumatics mounted
between the main shifter pneumatics? How did they contact or affect
the larger pneumatics?

When I dismantled the unit some time ago I noted that the small bellows
assembly might have had some parts taken off or been rendered irrelevant.
If someone has a frontal image of a properly assembled one it would help.

Thanks in advance,
