History of Wurlitzer Player Pianos

Here is what is shown in the Michel/Pierce "Piano Atlas" regarding
Wurlitzer:

  Wurlitzer, Rudolph, born Saxony, Germany, landed in N.Y. 1854;
  imported instrument in Cincinnati, Ohio 1856.

  Wurlitzer, The & Co., 105 W. Adams St., Chicago, Ill., factories at
  De Kalb, No. Tonawanda, Cornith, Miss., all pianos are manufactured
  under the trade name of "Wurlitzer" names listed below as being
  controlled by Wurlitzer were used prior to 1937: Apollo, Julius Bauer
  & Co., Melville Clark, De Kalb, Farney, Kingston, Kurtzmann, Merriam,
Schaff Bros., Spinet Strad, Underwood; also makes Wurlitzer
  Electronic Piano.

Wurlitzer serial numbers shown are from 1903, ser. no. 1910, up to and
including 1965, ser. no. 905000.

Please note: this is as exact as I can copy from the "Piano Atlas".
