Gilbert & Sullivan Songs on Piano Rolls
By Mike Walter

Dear friends, Jim Canavan had inquired about Gilbert & Sullivan piano
rolls. Elaine Obenchain [Ampico rollography] lists five Ampico medley
rolls that are pleasing to the ear. They are: Iolanthe 66463, Mikado
66683, Pinafore 66563, Pirates of Penzance 67073 and a Mikado Potpourri
54657. Each roll has between six and eight selections. The first four
are played by Werner Janssen. The fifth is played by Howard Brockway.

Duo-Art has three listings: Iolanthe 70459, Mikado 66489 and Pinafore
67589. Each roll has between six and eight selections and are played
by Robert Armbruster.

I am not aware of any 88-note rolls, but I am certain that there must
be some "out there".

Best wishes,
Mike Walter
