Player Piano Company is Alive and Well
By Matthew Caulfield

I hadn't heard the false rumor about PPCo going out of business,
and I just received some goods from them Tuesday. Jack Johnson,
PPCo's super-capable phone man, and Durrell (pronounced Doo-RELL,
I learned rather lately) are both apparently alive and kicking.

Robbie writes:

>>[ When PPCo was established, I don't think computers had been
>>[ been invented yet! How long has Durrell been in business?
>>[ It seems like forever.

Years ago, I believe, Durrell moved to put his customer data base
and order system into a computer, but such a mess resulted that he
said "never again." PPCo will probably remain pencil-and-paper
based until the end. I am even surprised to hear there is a PPCo
web site.
