The editor's mention of the "Rollo Mexico" perforator in his comment
after Don Teach's post in the 05.06.08 MMD brought back some memories
for me.

In 1967 I was in Mexico City and happened to find the small shop called
Rollos Mexico.  I went in and was served by the owner, Senor Lodoza.  We
had quite a chat, although both of us were limited in the other's
language.  He showed me his perforator.  I can't remember many details
of it, except that I was surprised at how small it was.

I bought his entire supply of Duo-Art rolls (133), because in those pre-
Internet days I didn't know of any source for them.  I also bought two
of the rolls he had made.  The box labels were hand-typed.  The brand
was "Mexico" and the titles were "Nunca en Domingo" and "Orfeo Negro."

I still have the receipt: 133 Duo-Art rolls for 1,760 pesos.  The peso
in those days was worth about eight cents, so the price of the rolls was
about $150 U.S., or about $1.12 per roll, and this included shipping to
California.  In order to avoid customs duty, he shipped them in lots of
about twelve at a time; so I got a box or two a week for about two
months.

I have often wondered what happened to Sr. Lodoza and his business.
