In Hayward, Calif., in the SF Bay Area, is a company called Pacific
States Felt.  They have all sorts of felt in both natural and synthetic
fibers.  They also have a variety of other sheet goods and provide die
cutting and converting services.

They do not carry a large variety of decorator colors; but wool can be
dyed pretty easily if you know how.  PSF sells to orthopedic appliance
manufacturers, which use a variety of very high quality felts.  These
are generally in a natural color.  This stuff is definitely not fuzzy.

I had a tour of the warehouse and saw all sorts of things that I wanted
to buy.  But the salesperson (owner maybe) insisted on giving me rem-
nants and would not let me buy anything.  One of the remnants was about
a half yard of 3/4" high-density wool felt.
