Source of Old Coins for Coin-op Machines
By Stephen Kent Goodman

Dear Bruce, Locate coin stores near you and ask them if they have
a "junk bin" where so-called "junk" foreign coins are put for young
collectors to browse through. There should be quite a few Old English
Pennies in "Fair" to "Good" condition (the lowest grades) for your
machines.

Also, get a copy of COINage Magazine; there are usually ads from world
coin dealers selling lower grade coins by the roll where you may find,
say, a roll of 20 large English Pennies. The same is true for collectors
wanting US Liberty Nickels -- buy them in the roll of 20 in lower
grades. That is about the cheapest you are going to find them in any
kind of quantity.
