Adjustable Vacuum Source for Testing
By Al Pebworth

Hi Hank and other MMD'ers, When I had my large shop, I used a vacuum
unit and located it about 50 feet outside of my shop but still in the
main building. Then I ran 1-1/4-inch PVC pipe into my shop. I also
ran (in conduit) the required electrical circuits for adjusting the
vacuum speed and for powering the vacuum.

The result was a vacuum supply with no motor noise nor exhaust noise,
with a speed control. The speed control came from W.W. Grainger, and
it was designed to be used with brush-type [universal] motors.

What a blessing to have the motor unit at an extended distance.
