Printing Lyrics on Piano Rolls
By Spencer Chase

I am investigating the possibility of making a high-speed printer for
printing lyrics on piano rolls. The goal is a machine that can print
lyrics on a typical 50-foot roll in under two minutes. Once a suitable
file is made, the lyrics will be printed in registration automatically.
I already have most software components written in other applications.
The remaining challenge is to interface to a standard print head.

If there is sufficient interest, I am more likely to elevate this
project to a higher priority. A special-purpose machine such as this
will not be cheap. It will not compete with the essentially free
printers that are sold to consumers in order to sell ink. A finished
product will not cost less than $2000. I may be able to provide plans
or a kit for those who can build the machinery on their own.

Let me know if you have any interest in this project.
