BBC Proms
By Jeffrey Borinsky

While the 'Last Night of the Proms' is a great party, it is only
one concert out of many. Please don't judge the whole series by
this single event.

It's also not easy to get into. I went to the Last Night once, many
years ago, by queuing for returns. I'm rather ashamed to admit that
I've been to many fewer Proms than I would have liked but I've listened
to a lot on BBC Radio 3. One I did attend included a performance of
Sibelius's Kullervo Symphony -- quite magical, and where else are you
likely to see that performed live!
