BBC Proms Finale
By Robbie Rhodes

According to http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/8200186.stm
the Last Night Of The Proms is to be broadcast live to cinemas around
the world. Audiences in countries such as Japan and Australia will
be able to join in with the flag-waving renditions of "Land Of Hope
and Glory" and "Rule, Britannia"!

The night features a more unusual offering in the shape of Malcolm
Arnold's "A Grand Grand Overture", which features parts for vacuum
cleaners, a floor polisher and rifles.

The 12 September broadcast is the culmination of the annual eight-week
celebration of classical music, and is renowned for its audience
participation and patriotic tone.

So... the discussion thread in MMDigest is now closed, until the next
time a Prom concert features a self-playing musical instrument!
