Kimball Electronic Player Motor Control Problem
By Charles Gilbert Jr.

The problem seems to be that the roll paper is not being pulled down
far enough to completely cover all the tracker bar ports. Operate the
spoon switch _before_ you press the "Play" button.

Since the piano has an electric motor for the spool drive the paper
will begin to travel as soon as you hit the Play button. The spoon
switch in the take-up spool activates the suction motor.

Once the paper has traveled far enough to operate the spoon switch and
activate the suction motor, then the piano is in "play mode" and the
re-roll port is "live". Because the leader of the roll is tapered in
a "V" shape, the marginal tracker bar port which signals re-roll is
still uncovered for a split second after the spoon switch is thrown,
thus throwing operation immediately back into re-roll.

Try rolling the paper down completely covering the tracker bar before
hitting play. If the behavior is still the same, then the problem
most likely is a leak in the re-roll signal tube or something related.
