Making a New Spring Motor for Singing Bird Cage
By Keith Merchant

Hi All, I am hoping some one can help me. I have a large two-bird
Bontems birdcage, 24 inches tall and 14 inches across, coin operated.
I have had it for twenty years and now decided to get it up and running.

The problem it has is the previous owner took out the coin mechanism
and the mainspring barrel and the fly, etc., and put in an electric
motor with a gear on the end. It works great but I would like to put
it back to the key-wind original.

I can cut all my new barrel and parts myself but my problem is I need
a tooth count on the barrel and size, and I would like close-up photos
of the rest of the movement if possible. Thank you for your help.
Bye for now.
