Peter Mintun on Piano Rolls
By Mark Forer

Hi, MMDers: I recently queried Peter Mintun on his segment featured
on the recent PBS Special, "Michael Feinstein's 'American Songbook.'
I wondered why, since he was surrounded by shelves of player piano
rolls while sitting at his reproducing piano, that nothing was
mentioned about player pianos and mechanical music themselves.
I speculated that a vignette might have been taped but never made
the final aired version of the show due to time considerations.

Peter kindly responded to me with a link, taped during the show's
production, specifically dealing with the reproducing piano, which
I hereby offer:

  http://www.michaelfeinsteinsamericansongbook.org/collection.html?c=5

To view the segment simply look to the top right of the site right
below "share" and click on the small video screen to the far right.
You will be treated to a nice 4:30 minute clip dealing with player
pianos and their rolls.

Thanks again to Peter for sharing this link with me.
