Seek Large Diameter Snare Drum for Band Organ
By Matthew Caulfield

Seabreeze Park has finally purchased a replica Wurlitzer 165
façade for our Verbeeck band organ that has been running naked
since 1996. In the process of installing the façade, we are
finding that the Verbeeck snare drum, at 13" diameter, is just
exactly the diameter of the drum-hole openings on the new façade
wings. We would like to install a larger snare drum, but 14"
diameter snare drums are apparently the largest available as
stock items.

A 14-inch drum would do, and we have located one locally. But
a 15-incher or slightly larger would be better, and would not allow
any rim exposure when viewed at an angle. The snare drum does not
press against the façade wing, but sits back by an inch or so, hence
the problem with a 13-inch drum and a 13-inch drum-wing hole.
