All lovers of mechanical music will be saddened to learn that
Larry Givens passed away on August 24, 2011, after a 30-year battle
with Parkinson's disease.  I first met Larry about 1955 at Carnegie
Tech, when we were both students there, and he was responsible for
my interest in mechanical instruments.  I have kept in contact with
him for all these years and I have some fond memories and interesting
stories I will share a little later.

He was widely known and had many friends and so I am sure many will
want to post memories they might have.  Anyone who wishes to contact
